Prithivi (Sanskrit: पृथ्वी pṛthvī, also पृथिवी pṛthivī) is the Hindu earth and mother goddess. According to one tradition, she is the personification of the Earth, and to another its Mother, being Prithivi Tattwa, the essence of the element earth. This mixed media piece has the beautiful blue planet earth at its centre which has so much life giving water across its surface.
Aphrodite the Greek goddess of Love was reported to have been born from the foaming waves of the Sea. Also identified with the Godesses Yemaya and Iamanja. Water. The Great Mother Sea source of all Life. MARI (Mediterranean/Middle East) - Basic name of the Goddess known as Marian, Mariamne, Myrrhine, Myrrha, Marratu, Maria, Maerin, Mariana and Marina; another disguise was the merry-maid, or mermaid (also mare-mynd, mareminde, marraminde, maraeman or mereminne). So many names breaking like the innumerable and eternal waves of the sea. She was however always Mother Sea. "La mer" is "the sea" in French; "la mere" is "mother." "La mar" is "the sea" in Spanish. "Mor" is "the sea" in Gaelic.
